You may use FlexPoints to book tickets on more than 150 airlines with no ban dates via the online marketplace offered by U.S. Bank. You can also redeem points for hotel stays and items through this marketplace.

The value of U.S. Bank FlexPoints is determined by how the points are redeemed, similar to the situation with many other incentive currencies. Each point is worth little more than two cents when redeemed for airline tickets. At best, you can earn this value per point. When buying cheap items using points, the return on investment may be less than 1 penny per point. It is not possible to transfer points to other loyalty programs, and the value of each point, on average, will be worth at most two cents.

In contrast to other reward programs, U.S. Bank allows you to purchase airline tickets in the name of any person you want, provided that the cardholder is the one who makes the reservation. Due to this, travelling as a family may become less difficult and more economical.

How to Redeem FlexPoints

There are several possibilities to redeem points offered by U.S. Bank, but some are more generous than others. The following items are presented in descending order from greatest to worst value:

Good Redemption Options

Depending on the face value of the ticket, using points to buy airline tickets could be a good use of your money. U.S. Bank does not issue redemptions at a set rate for air travel; rather, they apply a particular points cost to each airline ticket pricing range. For instance, if you want to buy a plane ticket with rewards that cost between $400 and $600, you will need 30,000 points.

If your ticket were worth $599, that is fantastic news; you would earn a redemption value of around 2 cents for each point, which is amazing in comparison to the norms of the business. However, if your ticket is valued at $401, you will only get a value of around 1.3 cents, which is a significant loss.

U.S. Bank also places a points value on hotel stays, which varies depending on the pricing range. It would cost you the same points, for example, whether you chose a room that costs $151 or $299. You could wring around 1.5 cents more value out of each point in the range if you gravitated toward the higher prices offered within the range. However, the cheaper choices would provide less value. If you combine your hotel stay with your flight, you may maximize the value of each point by getting up to 1.5 cents.
